Description

This panel discussion brings together a diverse group of speakers to provide insights about the current and future state of professional training in mathematical biology. The discussion will focus on key challenges and opportunities within the field today, with topics such as: training for careers in academia and in industry, current and future educational initiatives, the role of artificial intelligence in mathematical biology, and existing support across career stages in academic institutions and professional societies (i.e., SMB and ESTMB). Overall, the discussion will be geared toward determining the needs of the current and future generations of mathematical biologists.

This panel is organized by the SMB Community, Inclusion and Engagement (CIE) Committee, with support from the SMB and ESMTB.
